Class Descriptions

Ashtanga is yoga taught in the tradition of Sri K. Pattabhi Jois of Mysore, India. It’s based on a fixed series of postures that are linked by fluid, connecting movements (vinyasas) and ujjayi (victorious or ocean-sounding) breath. Students can expect in-depth instruction focused on alignment, form, breath, bandhas (energy locks) to help them cultivate a safe, mindful practice. Get your “work-in” while you get your work-out.

Hot R&B Flow

Hot Flow takes the room to 30 degrees for those who enjoy some heat...in moderation! The pre-cut sound track keeps you invigorated and engaged while using intelligent sequencing to challenge all body parts. This flow does not rely on sun salutations as much as dynamic movement.

Ashtanga Beginner

Introduces key postures of the ashtanga Primary Series with an emphasis on alignment, breath, bandhas and mindful practice. Posture modifications are offered based on students’ individual needs.

Discoverer Ashtanga

A seven-week pre-registered class that offers a more gradual progression to ashtanga practice. Breath, bandha work and basic yogic philosophy are introduced and students are supported in developing a safe, mindful practice.

Ashtanga I

Recommended for practitioners with some ashtanga experience already. Students will deepen their connection to breath and bandhas, tune in to “body intelligence” and learn to trust the “the inner teacher” as they develop a mindful, skillful and inspired practice.

Ashtanga Ujjayi Drum

An ashtanga practice done to the beat of a live drummer. Inspired and deeply grounding, this class will attune you to the oceanic rhythms of breath, conscious movement and the spontaneous energy of sangha (yogic community).

Hot R&B Ashtanga

Add some flava to your regular ashtanga practice by ebbing and flowing to the beat of Rhythm & Blues. Catch this groove. Destination: a Buddha-ful you. No hotter than 30 degrees.

Flow Yoga

Flow classes incorporate creative sequencing with an emphasis on moving with fluidity and grace while enjoying a deep, sweaty practice! Flow classes leave you feeling radiant, strong, calm and centered.

Dynamic Flow

Designed to revitalize and invigorate the whole self. These classes will focus on vigorous breathing exercise and yoga flows. The latter part of the class is designed to calm, relax and rejuvenate the whole self. This class is similar to Ashtanga but is a different sequence so students can explore outside of the box.

Hot Ashtanga Beginner

Enjoy the primary series with a little more external heat while still maintaining awareness of the naturally generated heat of the practice. Temperature kept around 30 degrees.

Prana Bender

In good old Lance Style (see Lance bio) this Prana Bender is designed to deepen you in to a new reality of the beauty of practice. Deep long holds with a new and challenging array of movements.

Ashtanga All Levels

Rather than differentiate by your level, All-levels Ashtanga encourages you to work at your practice by offering variations to all students. This class allows you to enjoy the postures according to your personal options. All ashtanga is taught in 30 degree temperature. The perfect not too hot, not too cool.
