Class Descriptions

Hatha is a good place to start for new practitioners – or to stay – if this style resonates with you. Hatha is a slower practice with a focus on alignment and form. You’ll be introduced to basic foundational yoga asanas (postures), yogic breath and meditation technique. Strength, flexibility and body awareness are just some of the fruits that this yoga practice bears.

Acro at Phoenix Gym

Phoenix Gym offers a safe and padded place to play acro yoga. Meet every Monday and enjoy a drop in practice place with your acro troupe.

Restorative Yoga

Restorative yoga might be coined as 'lay about yoga'. There are no real standing poses, just laying poses with all the support you need to sink and soften into relaxation. Though it seems a little low key, never underestimate the power of softening and the amazing effects on the nervous system. Every body needs rest and quiet time.

Yin Yang Flow

Using awareness of the two energies, feminine and masculine and how they interplay, this class will take that knowledge into the body, the being. Friendly to beginners and challenging enough for more experienced practitioners. Learn the philosophy that underpins the ancient asian yin/yang.

This is a calm, meditative class where postures help relax muscles by holding the pose for several minutes at a time.

Hot Yin adds the heat of radiant heat to increase the pliability of the muscles in a healthful way.

At approximately 30 degrees celsius, Lion's Breath Yoga & Pilates Centre facilitates a safe, heated environment to deeply stretch and detoxify your body through infrared heating technology. Promoting healthier, cleaner air - infrared heat destroys bacteria, viruses, mold, mildew and other organic organisms that cause respiratory distress, colds, flus and allergies. They produce healthy infrared heat waves which improve cardiovascular circulation, decrease joint stiffness, increase flexibility, increase blood flow, and assist in the removal of inflammatory free-radicals from the body. The system hets the water molecules in the air and in your body rather than the air. Experience the difference.

Practice in an infrared environment, which is both comfortable and eco-friendly, without sacrificing breath, alignment and meditation.
